This page is about my relations to video games.
I have own quite the few in my years, but I have sadly none of these games left, only Ps3, Xbox 360 and Wii games now.
This post is dedicated to the ones I lost. This is my game collection in a mental and digital format. I do this for some personal catharsis, nostalgia and other feels. I guess you can relate too many of them.
I like to call myself a gamer. Not a hardcore elite player, but I have enjoyed videogames as long as I can remember.
As videogames has developed, so have I. They have had a big impact on my life, and maybe my gaming history is a little different from the typical one.
Prepare for picture nostalgia.

Prepare for picture nostalgia.
Atari
My first memories start at age 3-5. My father had an Atari machine. And with it was Mario Bros, Pacman and a keyboard.

This was around 1990, and I think Atari had even stopped production many years ago.
NES

I got my first Nintendo, I don`t remember if I
got it as a present or my dad bought it for himself. But it stayed in
my room. And the game that followed was Super Mario Bros 3.

I remember it as very fun, but difficult. My
father and stepmom joined often in. I had this game in my collection for
many years and spent countless of hours on it.
My library then grew:
Prince of persia

I struggled with this. It was hard and the
movement where so unresponsive. But every time I turned it off I had to
try again. I came far, but I never reached the end.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I am a big Turtles fan. I loved this game and
I hated it, so fucking much. I came past the water level, one time! And
I died short after.
I must admit, after watching Angry video game nerd`s rant on this game, a big burden was lifted.
And why is every turtles on the cover red?
Batman the videogame

I rented it for two days and it`s one of my best gaming moment.
Megaman 3

This game was intense. I remember I had my
own secret book, with my secret megaman 3 passwords. Some dots of some
kind I think, and it was pain setting up.
Double Dragon 3

One of my favorite Nintendo games, hard as hell. I cleared some levels, but it was a painful single player.
Co-op was a bit easier. Once, when I was not
playing, only watching, friends finished it without me, it wasn`t my
turn. The sadness.
NES games I played with friends:
Kirby`s Adventure

Adventurous and kind.
North & South

Really had fun playing this
Wrestlemania

This game kicked ass.
Ski or Die

Deliciously silly fun.
Dragon`s Lair

I owned this one, but I can’t remember much of playing it. After watching AVGN on this game I think I know why.
Ducktales

So fun, can`t wait for the remake
Adventure Island

One bad ass axe wielding caveman.
Super Mario 2

Far from the same impact as Super Mario 3, but a fun game.
The Simpsons: Bart Vs. The Space Mutants

I really liked this game, but I had no clue. I found out most of it by random or a friend telling me what to do.
Sega Mega Drive
When I was 6-7 my mom bought me Sega Mega Drive for Christmas, this was 92-93.

With it followed:
Sonic The Hedgehog

Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist!

Turtles and Sonic ruled my life for years. I
could never finish Sonic, but I got quite close and I knew most of the
secrets. I think… I finished Turtles at least a 100 times, alone and
with friends.
There wasn`t many places that sold Sega Mega
Drive games where I lived, and if they sold Sega games it was often the
Genesis kind and they wouldn`t work on my Mega Drive.
This is actually my 2 only owned games on this console. But luckily I had a friend who also had one.
I borrowed these:
Mickey Mania

I remember vivid colors and music. This is not the 2013 remake, but it deserves one.
Toe Jam & Earl

A great unique game that also deserves a remake.
PC
I had computers available, and they were
often a step behind the new shit, but I played what I could. I`ve had
some great experiences on the PC and it started my FPS gaming.
The most memorable PC games where:
Wolfenstein

One of my first FPS, it was brutal and I loved it.
Doom

Same as Wolfenstein, but even more badass action and graphics.
Commander Keen

One of the first games I finished, I was proud.
Duke nukum

Fun game, I had it on my first laptop.
Duke nukem 3D

This game made me feel like an adult. It was badass, and it had strippers.
Worms

I loved the cutscenes in this game, and it had a new fun way to play.
Red Alert

Love the feeling I had playing this game. It felt real and fresh.
Tiberian sun

I played it some years after Red Alert, and loved it.
Larry games

I liked point and click games, it was manageable for my PC and I felt a reward when I accomplished something new.
My Larry gaming was a continuously search for a nude girl, it was really only a big tease. But I enjoyed the fun of it.
Grim Fandango

Loved this game, but experienced troubles midway on my PC.
Lula

I played this game purely because of hormones. Lula showed more than Larry, and a fun game.
Project I’m Going In

This was a really nice experience, then considered high end PC gaming.
Warcraft

I liked it, but never grew to be a Warcraft fan.
Max Payne

My best Pc experience, an incredible game with a deep dark vibe.
Hitman

This was a real surprise first time I tried it, freedom and violence with a cool edge.
Unreal

I was amazed by the graphics and the scary vibe.
Soldier of Fortune 2

One of my bloodiest and violent gaming experiences, it was pure fun.
Playstation
When I was twelve years old my father bought me a Sony Playstation to my birthday. Pure happiness emerged.

With it followed:
Spyro the dragon

Demo disc

I liked Spyro and played it a lot with my family.
But Spyro couldn`t beat the Demo disc by far.
I played that thing for months. I showed that dinosaur to everyone who
stepped over my doorstep. I was amazed by the graphics and the movement,
it blew my mind.
Later these games followed:
Heart of Darkness

This game blew my mind graphically. I have such a fond memory of this game.
Tekken 2

My first 3D fighting game experience, it was magic.
Die Hard

It kicked some serious ass! I used to wake up
hours before school to play this game. Struggled with mom to buy this,
my mom knew John McClane.
Rayman

A great game, with great memories.
Resident Evil 2

I remember reading about Resident Evil 2 in a
Playstation magazine, and every picture of this game amazed me. It was
the most vivid, fucked up, scary shit I had seen.
One day it was in the store shelf. I watched
that cover for months, every time I went by I had to read that back
cover. This game was expensive, so I did not have the money to buy it.
But sometime later my mother was leaving the country for a weekend, she
was picking up a dog she had ordered. I had to stay at home and watch
the other dogs, and got some money to buy food and candy.
I literarily ran down to the shop and bought this game. My Playstation was on that whole weekend and it was nerve wrecking.
Tekken 3

I like to think I perfected Lei and Hwoarang.
Fear Effect

This was as a pre-Christmas present, so I
could sit silently in my room while others prepared. It worked. This was
one cool and bloody game. I remember having 4-6 different saves, I
wathed the cut-scenes again and again.
Tenchu

I was lucky to get this at a very cheap price
when I was on vacation in Denmark. I read the manual for days and
couldn`t wait to get back home. And I wasn`t disappointed. It was dark,
stealthy and bloody. Perfect ninja.
Metal Gear Solid

Tried this game different times at friend`s,
but we never got the drive for it. It had a long intro and you had to
play it yourself to get hang of it. A year later I borrowed it home, and
it turned out to be one of my most badass gaming adventure. The
gameplay, the action, them feels…
Resident Evil 3

Great and intense, but didn`t leave the same mark as Resident Evil 2.
Ninja

Only played the demo, but I played it a lot!
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2

Fun and freedom.
Time Crisis

Had the light gun, but limited fun and my TV was small.
Crash Bandicoot

One of my first third person adventure games, and it was great.
Ridge Racer

Only had the demo, but played it at friends.
Syphon Filter

I`m pretty sure I finished this and had fun, but I honestly don`t remember that much about it.
Jackie Chan Stuntmaster

I was a big Jackie Chan fan. Problem with this one was that I could not find this game anywhere in Norway.
Luckily I had a friend who had bought
bootlegged games on the internet. I remember people chipped their
Playstation and bought home-brewed games via newly started Norwegian
auction webshops. The auctions were often up to 50 different games. So
this friend had gotten Jackie Chan Stuntmaster among these games. Little
Ironic, the pirate fighter that he is. I want him nothing wrong, I had
gladly paid.
Anyways, new problem, my Playstation wasn`t
chipped. So I AltaVista`d it and found out about Boot-CD. So I bought
one from this auction site.

It only worked sometimes. So this game was a mix between pure happiness and frustration.
GTA, GTA: London 1969 and GTA2

Great fun games, but was hard to restrain myself. It still brings feels when I see a group of joggers.
Shaolin

A game I read about quite some time before release, and knew this had to be good. Kicking monks was once a big passion.
I read a bad review, but wanted it anyway, I
had really been looking forward to it. Nowhere to be found, my friend
also received this by the same way as JCS. Some frustration, but I
finished it. Some kind of RPG`ish fighting game and I remember enjoying
it.
Driver

Had fun with this, even though I`m not the biggest fan of the racing genre.
The Crow

Knew this game was terrible when I bought it,
but I`m a big fan of The Crow movie and I thought it could be fun to
own. It`s sadly the only Playstation game I still own. I`ve lost them
all with the time. Tried this game for an hour, it`s bad.
Soul Blade

A totally ok fighting experience.
Cool Boarders 2

Pure fun and snowy.
Loaded

Crazy fun.
I can`t talk about Playstation games and not mention the demo disc`s.
The demo discs where as entertaining as a standalone game. Sometimes even better.

Nintendo 64
My dad gave me and my sister a Nintendo 64 to Christmas, to have at his house. The holly joys.

Nintendo 64 was really a social gaming
console. The only single player I played was Super Mario 64 and the
campaign on Goldeneye 64. But even then there were usually people in the
room. I tried a lot of the N64 games, but own a few.
These we owned:
Super Mario 64

Childhood in a game.
Goldeneye 64

What`s not to love?
Mario Kart 64

The ultimate friend game.
Donkey Kong 64

Tons of fun with my sister.
Starfox 64

I bet this game is still great today.
Pokemon Snap

This was my sisters pick, I was a bit embarrassed, but I really remember enjoying it.
Playstation 2

I bought my first PS2 in 2001. I was then a
Playstation fanboy, and was not that interested in the Xbox. I was 15 at
the time, and the Playstation 2 is strongly connected throughout my
youth.
The Bouncer

This was my first Ps2 game. Cool cutscenes, stylized fighting and had some unique approaches.
Final Fantasy X

This is my only Final Fantasy experience and had a great time. I never finished it though, had a 45 hour corrupted save file.
Tekken Tag Tournament / Tekken 4

This was Playstation fighting. Tekken was so
Playstation it didn`t need a brawl game. Years of fun and frustration
playing against friends.
Devil May Cry

Awesome! Violent sword fighting, crazy gunplay, and badass cutscenes.
Resident Evil Code: Veronica

Don`t remember that much about it, other than
I enjoyed it and gave me some scares. I remember red eyed Wesker and
some kids torturing a butterfly. My save got corrupted or deleted near
the end.
Project Zero / Fatal Frame

Still one of my favorite survival horror
games, it really scared the crap out of me, and I had issues playing it
alone. I often got stuck and used time to finish it. I also played
Project Zero 2: Crimson Butterfly. I liked it, but never got as invested
as the first one.
Kengo

I enjoyed it and it satisfied my samurai fetish.
Grand Theft Auto III & Grand Theft Auto III: Vice City

Pure freedom, this was my playground. I must
admit all the negative media surrounding these games only hyped me up
more. Sadly I never owned San Andreas.
Onimusha Warlords

Slashing and survival horror in a samurai setting, fabulous.
Clocktower 3

Creepy, but can`t compare to resident evil. Alyssa!
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of liberty

This is a classic for me, it`s a cornerstone
for the Ps2. It had the same impact on me as Metal Gear Solid. The
ending still amuses me.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

The movies came out, and I was hyped. But nothing more than an ok game, don`t remember much.
Mission: Impossible - Operation Surma

Movie hype, don`t remember that much about it.
Virtua Fighter 4

I bought this because of its good review`s.
Played it a while, but could never get the love for it. Remember it as a
slow paced fighting game.
Def Jam Vendetta

This game I really loved combined with beer and friends.
Ghosthunter

I had totally forgotten about this one. I saw
it as I browsed some game covers. I liked this one. Not a bloody
horror, but rather a kinder, softer spin on the survival horror genre.
Read good reviews.
Forbidden Siren

I really wanted to like this game. Tried
several times, but I never got the hang of it or the interest to keep
playing. Also good review`s.
True Crime: Streets of LA

A funny ride, it`s like GTA with American Jet Li as the main character. Right up my alley.
Jak 2: Renegade / Jak 3

Great great games! It`s funny, beautiful and childish.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

Pretty much as great as the former one`s, some incredible memorable parts in this game.
The Getaway

I played this game for a couple of hours, and
it was difficult. I left to some friend`s to play it with them. My
friend puts the disc a little tilted, so the disc gets squeezed by the
DVD rom. And that`s the story of that game… I even paid more than usual
price for this one.
Killer 7

Another game I really wanted to like. I read a
lot about it before release and I was hyped. But I was disappointed,
tried it many times but I could never get the drive to continue on.
Alone in the dark

I watched some really nice trailers upon release, but shit.
Shadow of the colossus

I finished this game with friends, it was incredible. We were pretty much high the whole time, and had a really great time.
God of War

One viciously badass game, delicious gameplay and crazy graphics.
Missed out on God of war 2 on the Ps2, but replayed it on the Ps3.
XBOX
I got my hands on a cheap chipped Xbox a while after I bought my Playstation 2.

It turned me a bit, but still, Playstation <3
I did not brew any games, but I could
transfer/install whole games to the Xbox HDD and watch DIVX on it. In
other words it was great. I did buy most of the games myself, but it was
very in handy when a friend got himself a new game.
My games were as follows:
Ninja Gaiden

Fast paced ninja action in its rawest form, and one hard game.
Silent Hill: The room

I really liked this game, evil, mystic and thrilling.
Fight Night 2004

Great with friends and has a fun campaign.
The Punisher

Violent fun.
Mafia

This was quite bad, and ugly. I think the PC version was far superior.
Conker: Live & Reloaded

Funniest game I have ever played, with a great zero fucks given attitude.
Black

This had a great show of graphics and some destructive elements to it. I liked it, but it didn`t gave me much.
Need for speed: Underground

Played it for months with friends and beer, I have fond memories of it.
Fahrenheit

This one really stuck with me, a fantastic game with elements of action, horror and mindfuck.
The Godfather

I had fun with this one and it got me engaged.
Honorable mentions:
Mortal Kombat Arcade Machine

One of the food stores close to my father had
this standing outside. I always wanted to join for grocery shopping,
but always waited outside beside this machine. Even if I didn`t have any
money to play.
So that`s it, my gaming history, my now digital game library.
I`ll maybe do a part 2 in some years.
I still play a lot and there are some incredible games coming ahead. We are in a console change, and great moments are waiting.
